There is so little to do and so much time! Strike that, reverse it! These witty words were uttered from Gene Wilder's mouth upon entering the chocolate factory with the winners. One of my all-time favorite movies! Willy Wonka sent out 5 golden tickets hidden in what else, a bar of chocolate! He created a plan that allowed 5 children and 5 adults into his factory for a so-called tour. What the children didn't know was that Mr. Wonka wanted to give his chocolate factory away to a child so they could grow up and run it. So many biblical principles (in just one movie!) run through my mind. Mr. Wonka knew he wanted a child to have his company because they could carry on the imagination and the culture of the chocolate factory. An adult with the wrong motives would squander and squelch what had been built.
All five children made very foolish choices once inside the factory. Charlie is the only one at the end of the movie who walks back into Mr. Wonka's office and leaves the everlasting gobstopper on his desk.
Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirits (the thoughts and intents of the heart).

You see, Charlie was not without fault or sin - if you remember, he did drink the fizzy lifting drink and bumped into the ceiling - but in the end he makes the right choice. God knows each and every one of our hearts. He knows our intentions, dreams, and desires. But in the end are we gonna sell out to Slugworth? Are we gonna make the right choices to keep us connected to God? I encourage you this week to keep going, even if you have had some slip ups. God does NOT WANT perfection, He wants a willing and obedient heart before Him.
Thank you for the encouragement girlfriend.
