Weekly Ads Activity

I wanted to share with you moms (aka) teachers a fun activity I have been doing with my girls for over a year now.

Here are your supplies

-Supermarket ads
-scissors
-tape/glue stick
-colored paper
-calculator

When the ads come out on Tuesday, I let my girls pick one. The next thing I do is create a mission and present it to the girls.
I give them a budget that they can't go over. We discuss it for a few minutes and then they are off! Next, they begin to cut out and glue together a menu to present. I give them about 15 minutes to complete and then I vote on them. It is a great way to weave together art, creativity, math, and imagination.

Mission Ideas-

1. Party!
Plan a party for 5 friends. You must have dinner, drinks, and dessert. Budget $50

2. Buffet
Plan a buffet for 12 people. Pick lots of different foods. No drinks or dessert. Budget $100

3. Grandma's Birthday
Plan a party for granny. There will be 20 people. You will need food, dessert, and decorations. Budget $150

4. Romantic dinner for two
Plan dinner for mommy and daddy. Dinner, dessert, decor, and drinks. Budget $75
