Why won't you release me
Lyrics from Mercy by Duffy
The Webster's dictionary says Mercy is-compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power.
I can't think of how many times I should have showed mercy to someone and I didn't. I don't know why I didn't, I just didn't. Actually, I do know why. I decided to judge every circumstance and situation and then throw down my sentence. When it comes to me and other people, I would keep a gavel between us. This allowed me the freedom to judge and condemn anyone at a moment's notice. Grace and mercy were out the window. There was a season where friendships were hard to come by in my life, gee I wonder why?
It's so funny when you pray one simple little prayer and God brings you to your knees. He told me this, Keep mercy in the middle. WHAT? Keep mercy in the middle of what, I thought to my self. He told me to keep mercy in the middle of me and everyone else. My mercy is greater than any one's failure. In a weird circumstance of events, I felt convicted of my judgmental attitude. At that moment, I felt God show me mercy for being a merciless person. I came to a place in my life, a place I stay now and that is everyone will stand before God and have to give account. I am happy, fine and content with letting God be the judge, I don't need to anymore.
Micah 6:8 says this-
He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
I have spent way to many years judging. "That person should be doing this, she doesn't deserve that. They always this or they always that." My life has become so less complicated and enjoyable since I learned to keep mercy in the middle.
If we keep mercy in the middle of everything we do, we will become the hands and feet of Jesus.
It really comes down to this one statement. WHO am I to judge ANYONE?
I challenge you to keep MERCY in the MIDDLE!
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Amen, my sister! LOVE it!
